Being a Star is having fun while giving it all you got.

Respect. Kindness. Support. Fun. Proud to be a Star.

Player Expectations.

  • Be respectful towards your coaches.

Every Stars coach is a volunteer from the community. They coach for the love of the sport and love of coaching. They strive to help you and your teammates become the best team you can be, and every decision they make has the team’s best interests at heart. Players are expected to respect their coaches and speak directly with them should any problems arise.

  • Be supportive of your teammates.

Our teams thrive on mutual support and respect from teammates. We encourage positive relationships towards teammates while pushing each other to be better volleyball players and people. Respect, encourage and admire each other’s efforts to improve. Teams are a safe space both physically and emotionally. Play time is decided for the good of the team, the bench is strength and every player is ready to come in at any opportunity.

  • Be committed to the team and the process.

Commitment, perseverance and responsibility will be rewarded. If a player has regular conflicts with another activity and practices, the player must speak with the coach to arrange a schedule. We expect compromises to be made on both ends.

“Trust the Process.” You may not always understand why the coach is doing something or strategies, it is important to trust that they have the team’s best intentions at heart.

  • Be a leader.

We work hard to develop young leaders, both on the court and off. U16-U18 players are expected to help coach at least 1 session of our Spring Youth League, where they will help teach young players the game.

  • Come prepared and ready to give 100%.

We ask all teams to arrive 15 minutes before practice to get their shoes on, help set up carts and nets, and prepare for practice. Players must come ready to play with all their gear, a water bottle and any additional items the coach has requested.

  • Participate in fundraising efforts.

Fundraising is an important part of our club to help families who can not afford it otherwise. U14s and U15s participate in the servathon, where they collect pledges to serve 100 serves at one practice. Older teams are expected to help coach our Spring Youth League, which is an important fundraiser. Parents are expected to attend and contribute to our annual Pub Night.
