About Us

  • Our club was formed in 2006 as a not-for-profit with a vision of developing the physical, social and psychological growth of youth.

Each player is encouraged to do her best within her abilities on and off the court within a team. Our hope is to help foster continued love for volleyball apply lessons learned both on and off the court. We are committed to keep the focus on equal participation, cooperation, responsibility and fun!

Players and their families are encouraged to be involved in club activities, such as fundraising. U16-18s are expected to coach at least one session of our Spring Youth League to gain experience leading, coaching and being positive role models to young players.

  • We run 3-6 club volleyball teams between the U14 and U18 age levels, competing in various tournaments across the lower mainland, Canada, and at times the US.

The club season runs from the beginning of January until the end of April or May (depending on the age group). Players can expect 2-3 practices a week and 1-2 tournaments a month on weekends. Tryouts begin in mid-November and each team will typically take 12-14 players. Players in our club are expected to abide by our code of conduct and regularly attend practices and tournaments. Regular conflicts should be communicated to the head coach at tryouts.

  • We are a little different from other club volleyball teams. We believe in developing leadership in young girls through more than just volleyball, including:

    • Modeling leadership through our coaching and team activities

    • Supporting community development through contributions to Harvest Project and Athletics for Kids (A4K) throughout the season as a part of our fundraising activities, as well as providing volunteers for the annual Rotary Ride for Rescue.

    • Encouraging and mentoring former Stars players to be junior coaches

    • Encouraging U16-U18 players to junior coach at the Stars Youth League

Each year, we drop off several bins of groceries collected during tryouts to the Harvest Project. As a result of our 2023 fundraising efforts, we were able to donate $1,500 to Athletics 4 Kids (A4K).
