2018-19 Season Kick-Off Party
We are excited to get the season started and what better way than to have a party!
PLAYERS COME READY TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL!
Sunday January 13, 2019 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Volunteer parents: please be there by 9:00 am to help set up. We also need parents to stay after to clean up. Please let your coaches know if you will be volunteering for set up or clean up.
Mickey McDougall Community Centre, 240 23rd St. E, North Vancouver
We will do the brunch and meetings in two waves so that each area doesn't get too crowded. It is a good opportunity to meet the parents with whom you will be carpooling, sitting in a gym all day, and even traveling to other parts of the country! Coaches will have a team meeting with the players and parents to outline expectations, review their coaching styles and emphasize the Stars Philosophy, Etiquette and Code of Conduct for players and parents. Please read this document prior to the season opener.
What to Bring:
1. Brunch item
Each team/player is responsible for bringing items for the potluck dinner. We have about 70 players plus one or two parents for each player, plus 12-14 coaches, so it will be a rowdy morning. Players, come prepared to play volleyball.
U14: Small fruit plate (each player bring enough for five people)
U15: Muffins, croissants, etc. (each player bring enough for five people)
U16: Yogurt, granola (each player bring enough for five to six people)
U17: Beverages: juice, water, tea, coffee (lots of it) milk/cream
We have lots of plates, sugar, cutlery, napkins cups and we have a few decorations for those parents who are volunteering to set up. Please let your coach know if you can volunteer for set up and clean up.
2. Post-dated cheque
Please bring a post-dated cheque for $50, dated May 1, 2019 and payable to North Shore Stars, for your uniform deposit. This will be torn up at the end of the season when your uniform is returned.
Please download, complete and bring the following forms to the event:
Registration Fees & Gear
If you have not yet registered, you must do so right away here. Note: Players will NOT be able to practice or play until club fees are paid and we have registered you with Volleyball BC.
Club fees cover gym rentals, tournament entry fees, first jacket, warm-up jersey and t-shirt, and use of uniform. Uniforms will be issued before the first tournament. Players are responsible for their own black spandex shorts, shoes and other equipment. It is important to have a good pair of shoes and we encourage you to wear the Active Ankle T2 to minimize ankle injuries. You can order additional Stars gear through the UR Store - A representative will be at the Season Kick-off Party to show samples and take orders.
