Tryout Forms

Bring to first tryout session

Here is what you must bring to tryouts:

  1. Completed form for your tryout. Download the appropriate form (fillable pdf), complete and bring to the tryout
  2. $30 if you haven't already paid on line
  3. Non-perishable food donation to Harvest Project food bank

Team Forms

Bring to the Season Opener if you make a team

The following are required only if you are selected to a team after tryouts.

If you make one of the teams, you must bring the following to the Season Opener and Kick-off Party in January.

  1. Completed Parent Questionnaire (fillable pdf)
  2. Completed Player Questionnaire (fillable pdf)
  3. Uniform deposit cheque ($50, payable to North Shore Stars and post dated for May 1, 2018)
  4. 2018 Volleyball BC Membership Waiver Form (required by Volleyball BC) (Fillable Word document) (pdf)

All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Please use the forms provided and attach all receipts.

Note: Parents who transport players other than their own to tournaments can claim a travel fee. The fee is $7 per way for trips to Vancouver Island and $50 per way for trips to Kelowna.

Where to buy volleyball gear

For Stars apparel, go to UR Store. You will find an extensive collection of Stars-branded clothing.

Northern Athletic carries a lot of volleyball apparel, equipment and shoes especially good volleyballs and knee pads. This is the official supplier for the North Shore Stars.

Volleyball Stuff is in Coquitlam at 963 Brunette Avenue, but you can order online and they will ship to the North Shore. They carry Active Ankle, a preventative measure to reduce the risk of ankle injuries.

Ladysport in Vancouver offers a wide range of products and are very knowledgeable about volleyball shoes and equipment. Asics and Mizuno are good brands that typically have great volleyball shoes

Time Out Sports on Mountain Highway, North Vancouver carries volleyball shoes, socks, kneepads and other gear.

Fitness Town on Marine Drive in North Vancouver has some excellent fitness equipment like skipping ropes, medicine balls, tension bands.

Shop North Shore Athletics and Volleyball BC for more volleyball wear, volleyballs and other volleyball related gear.Volleyball BC is located at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre in Burnaby.

Lululemon carries some great shorts that are suitable for volleyball and very comfortable. To compliment the red and white jerseys, Stars players wear black shorts.
